Unit 6 - Week 4.5

Having developed my resource fully, today I implemented it in a classroom whilst being observed. Student feedback and observer feedback was positive which is pleasing. I did have some timing issues and issues with students confidence in recording themselves which, while minimal, may need adjusting in future use. Despite one student claiming she 'hated the sound of her voice' and one student claiming 'this will fail' all students produced their screencasts/'episodes', engaged with the resource and produced revision materials to help them with their upcoming exam.

I think I could have developed this resource more fully if i hadnt have spent three weeks attempting to integrate text-voting into Prezi, but overall this was a positive development experience.

Unit 6 - Week 3

Have today completed my first screencast. Considering completely changing my project to students completing a 'series', like a tv, detailing some of the elements of the taught content with each student/group responsible for completing a mini-episode of a subsection with parts of lessons dedicated to viewing these and asking questions to consolidate understanding. Students could even get a 'box-set' at the end of it.
Also need to look up 'wordle' as an e-resource. Need to actually decide on what my e-resource will be as weeks are counting down.

Week 2

Have decided to change my idea for the project. Original plan was to use a text voting systen in a class quiz, however this seems pointless for 7 learners. I have now decided to develop a collaborative Wiki project instead as my students are entering into the revision period for their exams and it would allow students to work together to produce Wiki's for each of the areas they need to revise. I know nothing about Wiki's so will have to get some research done.

Unit 6 - Week 1

This is the first of many blogs devoted to the development of an e-learning resource or assessment tool for Unit 6, Phase 1 PGCE. At the moment i am thinking of developing a live, real-time text polling system to use during revision sessions or the development of a tool to encourage students to produce pod/screencasts as evidence of revision.
